PROGRAM
DETAILS
- U4: The U4's are focusing on introduction to a team sport setting
and skill development. Therefore, we schedule a practice once a week and no actual games. Coaches may
wish on occasion to organize a scrimmage with another U4 team, although the players are 3 or 4 years old,
a few months in age can make quite a difference in development and abilities.
- U6: The U6's are learning to settle into a team atmosphere. The main
focus is certainly skill development and learning how to follow direction. At ages 4 & 5, players will
demonstrate a wide variety of abilities. Coaches will try to lead them in fun activities to develop ball
handling. We schedule one practice night and one actual game night, however, coaches sometimes may choose to
"practice" for 1/2 the allotted hour and "scrimmage" for the second half.
- U8: The U8's are working harder at developing ball handling and
other skills. They are also learning more about some of the basic rules of the game. The U8's should
be practicing one night each week and following the game schedule provided for the second night. Coaches
may sometimes choose to team up with another team to run drills during practice, which often leads into
an impromtu scrimmage.
- U10: In U10 we separate the boys and girls into their own leagues.
Players are working hard at skill development. We schedule one practice night a week as well as one game per
week. The U10's are introduced to referee games. This means they will be learning about the specific
rules for recreational soccer. Parents are also introduced to the concept of referee games as well as a
small amount of travel. The league policy is that 50% of games are home and 50% are away. Travel is minimal,
always within the NW. U10 coaches often choose to run an extra practice on Saturdays. We encourage this and
tend to see great results in consistently following this schedule.
- U12: In U12 we separate the boys and girls into their own leagues. Players
are continuing to develop skills in all positions. The league schedules two games per week. All games have
a referee. Players will learn about the specific rules for recreational soccer. The league policy is that
50% of games are home and 50% are away. Travel is always within the NW. U12 coaches schedule practice sessions
on Saturdays.
- U14: In U14 we separate the boys and girls into their own leagues.
Players are continuing to develop skills in all positions as well as beginning to play specific positions.
The league schedules two games per week. All games have a referee. The league policy is that 50% of games
are home and 50% are away. Travel is always within the NW. U14 coaches schedule practice sessions on Saturdays.

are generally playing positional. The league schedules two games per week. All games have a referee. The league
policy is that 50% of games are home and 50% are away. Travel is always within the NW. U16/18 coaches schedule
