VOLUNTEER POSITIONS

Don't forget to volunteer! It is vital to the success of the soccer club for all families to work together. There are many opportunities available. Please choose from the list indicated below. Occasionally it is impossible for a family to sign up for a volunteer position. In this case, we offer a 'buy-out' option for $60 indicated on the registration form.  Download a copy of the volunteer opportunities for 2010:  Volunteer List

RULES

  • Proper equipment -For the soccer season, be sure to have:
    - U4:  Good outdoor shoes and we recommend shin guards
    - U6/U8: Shin guards are mandatory and we recommend soccer shoes
    - U10 and up: Shin guards and soccer shoes are mandatory
    - Uniforms will be provided for all age groups
  • Shin guards are to be worn underneath the socks. Our referees are trained to look for shin guard usage and players may be asked to sit out the game if they are not wearing them.
  • Players may not wear anything that can "catch" and become a safety hazard on the field such as bracelets, necklaces, watches, dangly earrings, loose headbands, etc. Our referees will ask players to remove items which qualify as "unsafe".
  • Referees are provided only for U10 and up. Coaches are the "referees" for U4_U8

    * Due to lower registration in these age categories, teams may include the addition of players from other communities, and occasionally our players may need to play out of another community. This is done to ensure even and fair teams within the league. A great way to ensure teams remain in Bowness as home base is to let other families know about our soccer programs. This will build both our registration and volunteer bases. When combining teams, the host community is generally the one that provides the team coaches.
